A southern Rhone 2007 finally convincing: Guigal Gigondas
Hello,
The great southern Rhone vintage announced had not packed more than that, so far, the wines tasted. It goes quite differently on this bottle.
Guigal Gigondas 2007 : A powerful nose, ripe, of course, the plum, cherry kirchée few notes but also the slightly licorice, gingerbread, and a subtle Horchata tip. The taste is robust, heady with silky tannins on the loose fat cherry burlat blackberry, plum, gingerbread. The finish is powerful, it is not immune to a point that alcohol is nicely balanced by the subtlety Armoatic ripe fruit, cherry burlat ripe liquorice spice bread, barley water, a good persistence. Even if the power, fat and alcohol are there, subtlety, harmony and balance to this wine can provide a real pleasure and other sensations that raw power. Congratulations to the team, best vintage of this wine and enjoyed the first southern Rhone 2007 that convinces me! Very Good - Excellent 90-92
Sincerely, Matthew
